Introduction
Better Risk Limited (t/a Better QMS) conducts independent high-quality audits and reporting for public-private organisations with focus on business processes and sustainable risk management. The company utilises the Microsoft Copilot Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tool, under licence, to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and improve client experiences, which helps to provide real-time recommendations, automate routine tasks and optimise resource management. As part of our commitment to ethical AI, we have established this overarching organizational policy to guide the implementation of AI technology, organisational deployment and governance.
Scope
This AI Policy applies to all Better Risk’s (Better Risk Limited (t/a Better QMS)) employees and contractors employing AI technologies, licensing and application users, including monitoring and maintenance activities. It encompasses the entire lifecycle of AI technologies leveraged within the organisation’s consultancy, product and service offerings.
Policy Statement of Intent
Better Risk Limited (t/a Better QMS) is dedicated to using AI Toolsets responsibly, ethically, and only when socially beneficial when deployed.
We commit to comply with the guidelines for trustworthy AI systems as presented in ISO 42001, the International Standard for the ‘Information Technology-Artificial Intelligence- Management System’.
We also commit to continually review and improve our AIMS through our management review process which will identify areas of improvement and set relevant AI objectives, ensuring that they continue to remain appropriate to our operations, interested parties and relevant compliance obligations.
We will embed principles of accountability, transparency, technical robustness and societal wellbeing across our AI activities.
Our cross-functional AI ethics review process, provides governance oversight, while impact assessments and ongoing monitoring ensure the safety and fairness of operational systems.
Stringent security controls for the use of AI Tools have been implemented to prevent unacceptable AI risks.
By fostering an ethical AI culture focused on safety and responsibility, we aim to earn enduring trust in our intelligent products and services, advancing business and human values.
This policy is reviewed through the Management Review and Internal Audit programme.
